North Carlton: Inner City Rebuild. This is an alterations and additions project to an existing single storey solid brick Victorian terrace in a heritage zone. The existing footings to the north side boundary wall of the dwelling had failed and the wall was beginning to bow out. The roof was then required to be propped and the entire north boundary wall was removed and replaced. A simple and restrained brick extension was designed to be built within the urban laneway context. Windows were strategically placed to on the north façade to capture sun and high tree views.
