Brunswick Upgrade: A Little Bit of Country. A central courtyard was added to this house to enable a north facing living space to be created in this double fronted Edwardian Weatherboard dwelling. The courtyard also acts to separate the formal Edwardian dwelling from the new living spaces that connect into the garden space. The new building was kept low to the rear to enable sun to penetrate the garden in winter. With the established trees maintained on the site, the house feels like a bush retreat in the centre of Brunswick.
