Since 2004 Paul Baker and Sarah Drofenik have worked together to explore ways of constructing environmentally sensitive homes for their clients. Paul has significant depth of knowledge in sustainable architecture in Australia. For the past three decades Paul has worked extensively in the Australian context and for a variety of firms. Paul and Sarah have a deep passion for sustainable design in architecture and have continued to pursue to understand the most current thought regarding the built environment's impact on the natural environment.
As the understanding of Carbon Neutrality has developed, we have seen this as an opportunity to understand how to create homes that have net zero carbon emissions. Design for us is not a series of ticked boxes that satisfy the current interior design trends. Rather design is a shifting process that sifts through questions of contemporary living and solves issues, expressing these within logical, beautiful and functioning built forms that change peoples lives. We are excited by the Carbon Zero economy, as it offers us the opportunity for a meaningful approach to materiality, and a chance to view the built environment beyond commodity.
Below is a series of strategies that we work with to achieve levels of environmental sustainability from Passive Solar Design, to Passive House design and to Carbon Neutrality.
